As for ...I never wanted to give up cooking, either. As for standing, try to get a high stool (think bar stool) and you can reach the counters while sitting. Do all cutting, mixing, stirring while seated and the legs don't get tired. I'm able to continue my love of cooking by adapting this way. Also, get a wheeled table (think tea cart) to help with the carrying.
